Review of Campbell’s Well Yes! Chicken Noodle soup. The “Well Yes” line of soups by Campbell’s is a higher quality tier of soups that they have on the market.
We all would love to have the time and money for every meal to be scratch made at home, at work, at school, on the road… on vacation… and so on. But it’s just not realistic and if we’re blessed enough, our pantries are full of foods that can be made quickly if necessary. One of those foods for me is canned soups!
In this post I’m going to give a light review of Campbell’s “Well Yes!” Chicken Noodle soup.
I’m not really a fan of canned chicken though I won’t lie about that. It just reminds me of some sort of mystery meat. But at the end of the day this soup looks pretty healthy so I’m just going to highlight what I see.
The first thing I like is the nutritional value from one can of soup. The calories are very low, at only 200 Cal. Low fat, low cholesterol, low sugar, and a decent source of Vitamin A.
The best parts are NO trans fat, about 20% of daily fiber, about 30% of daily protein, and despite being a noodle based soup carbs are kept to less than 10% DV. This should be a good belly fat target for anyone who’s looking to keep the waste line looking slim.
I do wish that the sodium content was a little bit lower, but like most canned goods especially canned soups and ramens the sodium content is usually high. In this case it’s over 50% DV. I’ve seen worse in canned foods but it could be lower that would make this soup great.
Another plus about this soup is that it’s broth based. Creamy soups taste great but can double or sometimes even triple the fat content and calories of broth based soups.
Cook time from the moment I turned the heat on to the time it was finished cooking was 7 minutes total.
Once cooked it was what I expected. The noodles were thick and abundant, the chunks of carrot were fairly large and there were even pieces of celery and white beans that are clearly visible in the broth. The flavor was good mostly due to the high sodium content. The chicken pieces were a bit strange as is always the case with canned chicken, but still a fantastic source of protein for this tiny little can of soup.
Overall I’m happy with this, but I would say it so far has been my least favorite of all the “Well Yes!” soups by Campbell’s.
